Inner Mongolia is an Autonomous Region within China and is one that is still considered to be remote.
Just the name, Mongolia, conjures up visions of Genghis Khan ridding across the grasslands into the sunset. With the upper valley of the Yellow River running through this region it has extremely varied scenery. From the mountains of Yin-Shan and Wulaer Shan to the grassland plateau of Xilamuren this is an area of contrasting scenery.
