 LONDON / BEIJING

Begin your unique holiday by making your own way to London Heathrow for an overnight flight to Beijing.

Day 2

BEIJING

On arrival in Beijing, met on arrival and transferred to the 4* Novotel Xinqiao Hotel for a 3-night stay. 

Day 3

BEIJING  

Walk along one of the most dramatic sections of the Great Wall of China that snakes across the rugged mountain landscape. Also tread along the Sacred Road, the road to heaven that leads to the Ming Tombs where the emperors are buried. Back in the city, enjoy Beijing's most popular dish, Peking Duck.  BLD

Day 4

BEIJING

From Tiananmen Square enter the Forbidden City, home to the Emperors for 500 years, and gaze around the grand ceremonial halls and peek into the private family quarters. Later stroll through the elegant formal gardens of the Summer Palace, and admire the famous Marble Boat. B/L/D

Day 5

BEIJING / XIAN

Visit the magnificent red and gold Temple of Heaven that was built for the Emperor, the son of Heaven, to make sacrifices for a good harvest, then take high speed day train to Xian for two nights at the 4* Novotel Xi'an SCPG Hotel. BLD

Day 6

XIAN

See the 7,000 terracotta soldiers that have stood guard over China's first emperor for over 2,200 years, and they still stand in battle formation in giant exhibition halls erected around the pits where they were discovered in the 1970s. This afternoon see Xian's immense City Wall complete with towers and battlements, and tonight we are guests at the Tang Dynasty show, an enchanting performance of music and dance from another era. Day 7

XIAN / HANGZHOU

View some of China's finest artefacts at the Provincial Museum - neolithic ceramics painted with scenes of everyday life, bronze swords and statues, gold and silver artwork and ancient wall murals. Transferred to the airport for the flight to Hangzhou  in the afternoon. one night stay in Hangzhou. B/L    

Day 8

HANGZHOU

Morning cruise tour on West Lake, which with mountains on 3 sides; then visit a traditional pharmacy and an extravagant manor house that belonged to a prosperous 19^th century local businessman. Walk along the historic 'Culture' Street to observe real local life. B/L/D

Day 9

HANGZHOU / NANJING

Free at leisure in the morning, after lunch, transfer to railway station for your high speed train to Nanjing. B/L

Day 10

NANJING

This morning we will visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum which was built in 1926-29 for the great pioneer of Chinese revolution. Afternoon we are going to visit the Confucius Temple and Xuanwu Lake.  B/L/D

Day 11

NANJING /WUXI /SUZHOU

Today transfer to station for the high speed train to Wuxi, visit Li Garden and Taihu Lake IN Wujxi and continue onto Suzhou, which is known as ‘Venice of the east’. Two nights stay in Suzhou. B/L/D

Day 12

SUZHOU

Today we will visit this beautiful city of Suzhou, which is famous for its gardens and silk. We start the day by visiting Humble Administrator Garden, Pan Gate, Art Garden and Silk Factory. B/L/D

Day 13

SUZHOU / SHANGHAI

Drive overland to Shanghai, en-route visit the Zhujiajiao Watertown. You will take a short boat cruise on the river and enjoy your time at the old town. Zhujiajiao Watertown with a hundred years history is about 48km from downtown Shanghai.  There are some attractions, such as Tongtianhe, the historic Post Office, Yuanjin Temple, Kezhi Garden etc. you will have a very relaxing time in the town. Back to Shanghai after the day tour. Staying at Superb Novotel Shanghai Atlantis Hotel. B/L/D

Day 14

SHANGHAI

This morning we will visit the Shanghai Museum and Yu Garden; after lunch, we continue to visit Old Town, Jade Buddha Temple and the Bund an area on the banks of the Huangpu River that gives you a captivating riverside view of 52 skyscrapers and the famous Oriental Pearl Tower. Back to your hotel after the day tour. B/L/D

Day 15

SHANGHAI / LONDON

Drive to Airport for your flight from Shanghai via Beijing back to London Heathrow. Arrive in London on the same day. B
