Day 1
Depart London Heathrow on nonstop flight to Shanghai.
Day 2 Shanghai
Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to the 4-star centrally located Central Hotel. Welcome dinner in the evening. (D)
Day 3 Shanghai
After breakfast visit the famous classical Yuyuan Garden. Stroll to the Huxing Teahouse and the old Chinese Quarter and explore the bazaar's traditional shops, handicrafts and Chinese teas. Enjoy typical Shanghainese “dim sum “lunch. Take an afternoon visit to the Xinitiandi Concession area, with it’s many trendy bars, cafes and shops. (BL)
Day 4 Shanghai, Hangzhou
Morning visit to the renowned Shanghai Museum. Take a high speed train from Shanghai to “Heaven on Earth”, Hangzhou, and transfer to the 4-star Best Western Meiyuan Hotel for two nights. (BL)
Day 5 Hangzhou
Take a short cruise on the famous West Lake. Afternoon visit to the Ancient Pharmacy and the manor house of a Qing nobleman. Explore the Cultural Street. (BL)
Day 6 Hangzhou, Suzhou
Drive to the “Venice of the Orient” Suzhou, on arrival transfer to the Garden Hotel for two nights. Visit the Panmen Gate and the Garden of the Humble Administrator. (BL)
Day 7 Suzhou
Take a short cruise on the Grand Canal to Marco Polo Bridge and explore the bustling old quarter. Visit the Silk Embroidery Institute. (BL)
Day 8 Shanghai, Xian
Tranfser to Shanghai Airport for a flight to Xian. Upon arrival, transfer to the 5-star Grand New World Hotel for two nights. Evening performance of the Tang Era Dynasty Show. (BD)
Day 9 Xian
Visit the tomb of the Qin Shi Huang guarded by the vast Terracotta Army of 7000 life-sized soldiers, each individually crafted. After lunch visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Grand Mosque and Muslim Quarter. (BL)
Day 10 Xian, Beijing
Visit the Hanyanling Museum. Fly to Beijing and transfer to the 4-star centrally located Jianguo Hotel for three nights. Enjoy an evening performance of Beijing Opera. (BLD)
Day 11 Beijing
Visit Tiananmen Square and its vast complex of palaces, home to Emperors for more than 500 years, the Forbidden City. Exit in the north part of the city and visit Jinghsan Park for panoramic views of Beijing. Stroll by Houhai Lake, one of the few oases left in the hutong area of Beijing. (BL)
Day 12 Beijing
Drive north of Beijing for visit to the less-crowded section of the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. On the way back to the city visit the Temple of Heaven. In the evening enjoy a traditional Beijing Duck Dinner. (BLD)
Day 13 Beijing Yangtze Cruise
Visit the best preserved imperial garden, the Summer Palace. Take an afternoon flight to Yichang to embark on the 4- night upstream cruise on the Yangtze River aboard the Victoria Queen. (BLD)
Day 14 Yangtze Cruise
Relax and let the Yangtze carry you away, visit the Three Gorges Dam and learn about the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken. Continue sailing through the Three Gorges Shiplocks and Xiling Gorge. (BLD)
Day 15 Yangtze Cruise
Continue cruising down the Yangtze, sailing through Wu and Qutang Gorge. An excursion has been arranged to the Lesser Gorge along the Daning River or Shennong Stream. (BLD)
Day 16 Yangtze Cruise
Continue cruising down the Yangtze, shore excursions are available to the ghost city of Fengduor Wanxia. (BLD)
Day 17 Chongqing, Dazu, Chengdu
On arrival into Chongqing drive through the picturesque country side to Dazu, a stunning 13th century rock carvings and UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to capital city of Sichuan Province, Chengdu and transfer to the Buddha Zen or the 5-star Tibet Hotel. Enjoy a Sichuan flavour dinner. (BLD)
Day 18 Chengdu
This morning visit the world’s most threatened animals, pandas. The afternoon is on leisure. (B)
Day 19 Chengdu, Guilin
Full day excursion to the Giant Buddha at Leshan, hewn from a mountainside in the 8th century. In the afternoon fly to Guilin and transfer to the 4-star Park Hotel. (BLD)
Day 20 Yangshuo
Begin the day with a half day Li River Cruise. The 45-mile journey to Yangshuo glides through a landscape of natural beauty of mist, shrouded crags and bamboo groves that have inspired painters and poets for centuries. Transfer to the 5-star Yangshuo Resort for two nights. Enjoy the spectacular son et lumiere performance set on the lake and amongst Karst peaks. (BLD)
Day 21 Yangshuo
Enjoy the countryside scenery by taking a light walk along the Yulong River. After lunch climb the Moon Hill for lovely panoramic view of surrounding area. Visit the Big Banyan Tree to enjoy the sunset. (BL)
Day 22 Shanghai
Drive back to Guilin and visit Fubo Hill. Fly to Shanghai for an overnight stay at the Central Hotel. (B)
Day 23 Shanghai, London
Transfer to the airport for your non-stop flight to London, arriving at Heathrow on the same day at around 1500. (B) |
