Guangzhou

Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, is one of China’s main industrial centres, covering an area of 7,434 sq km, and with a population of over 6 million. Guangzhou is titled as the biggest national and foreign oriented city in south of China with flourishing commerce. It is also a famous historical and cultural city in China. Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

It was built in 1931 with the funds raised by the Guangzhou people and overseas Chinese in memory of Sun Yat-sen who is considered as the pioneer of China’s bourgeois democratic revolution. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, covering an area of 12,000 sq m, is now a place for the city’s large-scale meetings and performances.

Chen Family Temple

Chen Family Temple, known as Guangdong Folk Art Museum, was built in the 1890s with donations of members of the Chen family. It is now the largest and best preserved and decorated ancient architecture existing in Guangdong province.

Five Rams Statue

It was built in 1959 with 130 pieces of marble. The statue relates to a legend that five rams descended to offer the people five ears of rice and to bless them with bumper harvests.This is how Guangzhou gained its name Five Rams City or Grain City.

Temple of the Six Banyan Trees

Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is located on Liurong Road and was built in 537 during the Southern Dynasties (386–581). Flowery Pagoda, built in 1097, is the temple’s major structure that looks like as if it has nine stories while in fact it has 17 stories inside.
