While I was writing this letter, the fantastic closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Game just finished on TV, China finished as No.1 in the medal table with a haul of 51 Gold Medals. Further more, Team GB had the best Olympic performance for 100 years and won 19 Golds. Jacques Rogge, the president of IOC, described the Games “Truly Exceptional”.

Finally some good news about China! Some good news about the 2008 Olympic Games!!
As a travel company specializing in China, 2008 is no doubt a very memorable year for us. We celebrated our 10th Anniversary in January, but soon the Tibetan incident in early March hit our enthusiasm, while we were altering the program for our clients, we then faced the most devastating earth quake in Sichuan which grabbed everyone’s heart.

We do remember how difficult it was in 2003 with SARS, but we definitely did not prepare for the difficulties we faced in 2008. Now, coming on the back of the 2008 Olympics with these great publicity of China, we finally are able to look forward to 2009, we believe it will be a great year. In anticipation of the growth of our number of clients we have further increased our number of itineraries and added still more new itineraries. Of course we will still run the old favourites but even these tours have had a little ‘freshening up’ in particular in our group tours we have nominated restaurants that our clients will experience as we believe one of the most interesting aspects of going on holiday is to experience local food, we hope our choice of restaurants gives you a range of experiences to remember your holiday by.

In other news, we have now launched our new international website www.chinaholidays.com which will provide similar services for our overseas clients. As you may know, we opened our Beijing branch 3 years ago, with it’s success and our confidence in Chinese tourism we have purchased our own property in Beijing late last year. I hope this shows you how confident we are always with the Chinese tourism industry and China Holidays’ future operation in China. Again, as always, thank you for travelling with China Holidays!
