Tibet tours - We are the longest established tour operator in the UK to exclusively deal with China. We do not sell through the travel trade, we only sell direct to our passengers. China Holidays Ltd. was formed in November 1997. We have always aimed to give our clients a first class holiday with emphasis placed on the quality of sightseeing programs, accommodation, meals and the standard of the services. Many of our passengers consider that their trip to china will be a holiday of a lifetime but we have often found that our clients have enjoyed the experience so much that they have returned to China few years later. China is an intriguing mixture of history, legend and a modern state which, at sometime in life, is an absolutely must for every traveller.

We only deal with China so, as we like to say we are experts in all things Chinese. We have Chinese Staffs who have led tours in China themselves and we endeavour to arrange for all of our senior Staffs to visit China at least once a year to ensure that their knowledge is right up to date.

We have an excellent relationship with the leading tourist companies and hotels in China who work very closely with us to ensure that all matters run smoothly in China and maybe more importantly when there are little problems they are on hand to sort matters out immediately and with the minimum amount of fuss.

Beijing, the capital city, is the nation ’s political and cultural centre. Beijing covers an area of 16,800 square kilometres with total population of over 12 million,of which about 6 million live in the city and the rest on the outskirts. As an ancient city with great splendour, Beijing is full of magnificent palaces and parks and has more than 50 museums. Among its most popular treasures are:

Tian’anmen Square - Located in the centre of the city, Tian’anmen, covering an area of 400,000 sq.m, is the largest public square in the world. In the centre of the square, stands the Monument to the People ’s Heroes.

Forbidden City - Officially known as the Former Imperial Palace or ‘Gugong ’, most foreigners prefer the name it was given to indicate that only the emperor ’s court and ministers – plus the occasional ambassador bearing tribute – were allowed into this small 'city ’ until the 1920s. The vast, exotic grandeur of the Forbidden City was brilliantly captured in ‘The Last Emperor ’ which was filmed there. It is an architectural masterpiece, with a breathtaking symmetry of palatial pavilions, courtyards, gates, treasure halls and gardens.
