Day 01 London/Shanghai
Begin your breathtaking holiday by making your own way to London Heathrow for an overnight flight to Shanghai with China Eastern Airlines.
Day 02 Shanghai
On arrival into the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai you are met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon will be at leisure to overcome any jetlag. D
Day 03 Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai
Your journey into China begins with a coach journey to the ‘Venice of the East’, Suzhou, famous for its many gardens and water ways. You also visit the Humble Administrators Garden and Fish Net Garden. This is followed by a short cruise on the Grand Canal. Transfer back to Shanghai in the evening. B/L/D
Day 04 Shanghai/Beijing
This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the must-see city of Beijing. Here visit the largest temple complex in China, the Temple of Heaven. Tonight savour the local specialty of a Peking Duck Dinner. B/L/D
Day 05 Beijing
Today it is time to visit the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China at Badaling. Here immerse yourself in its history and walk along a section of the wall. Following this, visit the Ming Tombs, specifically Chang Ling and also walk along the Sacred Road. B/L/D
Day 06 Beijing
View the iconic picture of Chairman Mao by visiting Ti’ananmen Square and venture into the Forbidden City. In the afternoon, view first-hand Chinas pandas at Panda Hall and wander around the Summer Palace. Tonight enjoy an evening of traditional Chinese culture with the Legend of Kungfu show. B/L/D
Day 07 Beijing/Xi’an
Get a glimpse of authentic China by rickshaw, riding through local Hutongs. This is followed by a lesson in dumpling making and lunch with a local family. Later transfer to the airport for your flight to the ancient city of Xi’an. The local guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to the hotel. Tonight’s dinner will be the local specialty of Mutton Paomo which is a tasty Xi'an dish that consists of a mutton soup served with wheat flour flat bread. B/L/D
Day 08 Xi’an
Today get ready to visit the fascinating archaeological discovery of the Terracotta Warriors. This afternoon continue your discovery of Xi’an by visiting the Muslim quarter and enter the Great Mosque. A Dumpling Banquet has been arranged for tonight. B/L/D
Day 09 Xi’an/Chongqing/Cruising
This morning visit the City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Later in the day, transfer to the airport for your flight to Chongqing. On arrival you are met and transferred for your cruise down the Yangtze. B/L/D
Day 10 Cruising
Today relax and let the Yangtze carry you away. Shore excursions are available to Fengdu or Wanxia. You also sail through Xiling Gorge. B/L/D
Day 11 Cruising
Continue cruising down the Yangtze, sailing through Qutang and Wu Gorge. An excursion has been arranged to the Lesser Gorge along the Daning River or Shennong Stream. B/L/D
Day 12 Yichang/Shanghai
On arrival into Yichang, visit the Three Gorges Dam and learn about the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken. Afterwards transfer to the airport for your flight back to Shanghai. On arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel. B/L/D
Day 13 Shanghai
Revisiting Shanghai go to the Shanghai Museum. In the afternoon relax in Yu Garden, built in 1559 in both Ming and Qing styles. Later explore the Old Town, Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1882 and housing the mesmerizing jade statue of Sakamuni, An evening Acrobatic Show has been arranged. B/L/D
Day 14 Shanghai/London
Your inspiring China experience has come to an end and it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. You have a transfer to the airport for your flight home to Heathrow with China Eastern Airlines. Arrive in London later the same day. B |
