Day 01 Thursday – London/Shanghai
Begin your exciting holiday by making your own way to London Heathrow for an overnight flight to Shanghai with China Eastern Airlines.
Day 02 Friday – Shanghai
On arrival into the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai you are met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon will be at leisure to overcome any jetlag. D
Day 03 Saturday – Shanghai
This morning relax in the Yu Garden, built in 1559 in both the Ming and Qing dynasty. Later explore the Old Town and Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1882 and housing the mesmerizing jade statue of Sakamuni, also visit the Shanghai Museum. An evening Acrobatic Show has been arranged. B/L/D
Day 04 Sunday – Shanghai/Zhouzhuang/Suzhou
Take a coach journey to the ‘Venice of the East’, Suzhou. Along the way, visit the old town of Zhouzhang, which is renowned for its beautiful surroundings, ancient buildings and crisscrossing rivers and lakes. B/L/D
Day 05 Monday – Suzhou/Shanghai/Beijing
Today it is time to explore the picturesque city of Suzhou, famous for its many gardens and silk. You start the day by visiting Humble Administrator Garden, then move on to the Pan Gate, Garden of Fish Net and Silk Factory. Later transfer to the airport for your flight to the vibrant city of Beijing. B/L/D
Day 06 Tuesday – Beijing
Get ready to visit the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China at Badaling. Here immerse yourself in its history and walk along a section of the wall. Following this, visit the Ming Tombs, specifically Chang Ling and also walk along the Sacred Road. Tonight savour the local specialty of a Peking Duck Dinner. B/L/D
Day 07 Wednesday – Beijing
This morning view the iconic picture of Chairman Mao by visiting Ti’ananmen Square, then venture into the Forbidden City. In the afternoon, view first-hand Chinas pandas at Panda Hall and wander around the Summer Palace. Tonight enjoy an evening of traditional Chinese culture with the Legend of Kungfu show. B/L/D
Day 08 Thursday – Beijing/Xi’an
Take a morning tour to visit the largest temple complex in China, the Temple of Heaven, and then transfer to the airport for your flight to the Ancient city of Xi’an. Explore the Han Yangling Museum on the way to your hotel. Tonight acquire a taste for the Mutton Paomo, a local soup which is made with mutton, vegetables and spices, served with wheat flour flat bread. B/L/D
Day 09 Friday – Xi’an
Today get ready to visit the fascinating archaeological discovery of the Terracotta Warriors. A Dumpling Banquet has been arranged for tonight. B/L/D
Day 10 Saturday – Xi’an/Shanghai
A morning tour visits the City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Later transfer to the airport for your flight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. B/L/D
Day 11 Sunday – Shanghai/London
Your China experience has come to an end and it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. You have a transfer to the airport for your flight home to Heathrow with China Eastern Airlines. Arrive in London later the same day. B |
