Day 01 Tuesday – London/Shanghai
Begin your exciting holiday by making your own way to London Heathrow for an overnight flight to Shanghai with China Eastern Airlines.
Day 02 Wednesday – Shanghai
On arrival into the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai you are met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon will be at leisure to overcome any jetlag. D
Day 03 Thursday – Shanghai
This morning visit the Shanghai Museum and relax in the Yu Garden, built in 1559 in both Ming and Qing styles. Later explore the Old Town and Jade Buddha Temple. An evening Acrobatic Show has been arranged. B/L/D
Day 04 Friday – Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai
Today take a coach to the ‘Oriental Venice’, Suzhou, famous for its many gardens and water ways. You also visit the Humble Administrators Garden and Garden of Fish Net. This is followed by a short cruise on the Grand Canal. Transfer back to Shanghai in the evening. B/L/D
Day 05 Saturday – Shanghai/Beijing
Take a morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the vibrant city of Beijing. Today get a glimpse of authentic China by rickshaw, riding through local Hutongs. This is followed by a lesson in dumpling making and lunch with a local family. Later visit the largest temple complex in China, the Temple of Heaven. B/L/D
Day 06 Sunday – Beijing
Today it is time to visit the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China at Badaling. Here immerse yourself in its history and walk along a section of the wall. Following this, visit the Ming Tombs, specifically Chang Ling and also walk along the Sacred Road. Tonight savor the local specialty of a Peking Duck Dinner. B/L/D
Day 07 Monday – Beijing
This morning view the iconic picture of Chairman Mao by visiting Ti’ananmen Square and venture into the Forbidden City. In the afternoon, view first-hand Chinas pandas at Panda Hall and wander around the Summer Palace. Tonight enjoy an evening of traditional Chinese culture with the Legend of Kungfu show. B/L/D
Day 08 Tuesday – Beijing/Xian
Take a morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the Ancient city of Xi’an. An afternoon tour visits the City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight’s dinner will be the local specialty of Mutton Paomo which is a tasty Shaanxi dish that consists of a mutton soup served with wheat flour flat bread. B/L/D
Day 09 Wednesday – Xian
Today get ready to visit the fascinating archaeological discovery of the Terracotta Warriors. This afternoon continue on by visiting the Muslim quarter and enter the Great Mosque. A Dumpling Banquet has been arranged for tonight. B/L/D
Day 10 Thursday – Xian/Guilin
Take a morning flight to the Limestone Mountain region city of Guilin. An afternoon tour includes the Reed Flute Cave and Fubo Hill for a picturesque view of the city and countryside. Dinner has been arranged at Longze restaurant, famous for its local dishes. B/L/D
Day 11 Friday – Guilin/Shanghai
Begin the day with a half day Li River Cruise. The 45-mile journey to Yangshuo glides through a landscape of natural beauty of mist, shrouded crags and bamboo groves that have inspired painters and poets for centuries. After your lunch onboard, sightseeing has been arranged in Yangshuo. Transfer to Guilin airport for your flight to Shanghai. B/L/D
Day 12 Saturday – Shanghai/London
Your China experience has come to an end and it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. You have a transfer to the airport for your flight home to Heathrow with China Eastern Airlines. Arrive in London later the same day. B
