Day 1 Saturday – London/Shanghai
Begin your exciting holiday by making your own way to London Heathrow for an overnight flight to Shanghai with China Eastern Airlines.
Day 2 Sunday – Shanghai
On arrival into the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai you are met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon will be at leisure to overcome any jetlag. D
Day 3 Monday – Shanghai
This morning visit the Shanghai Museum. Afterwards relax in the Yu Garden, built in 1559 in both Ming and Qing Dynasties styles, followed by and exploration of the Old Town and Jade Buddha Temple. An evening Acrobatic Show has been arranged for tonight. B/L/D
Day 4 Tuesday – Shanghai/Zhouzhuang/Suzhou
Today take a coach journey to the ‘Oriental Venice’, Suzhou. Along the way, visit the old town of Zhouzhuang, which is renowned for its beautiful surroundings, ancient buildings and crisscrossing rivers and lakes. B/L/D
Day 5 Wednesday – Suzhou
Take your time today exploring the picturesque city of Suzhou, famous for its many gardens and silk. You start the day by visiting Humble Administrator Garden, then move on to the Pan Gate, Art Garden and Silk Factory. B/L/D
Day 6 Thursday – Suzhou/Wuxi/Nanjing
Transfer by air conditioned coach to ‘Pearl of Lake Tai’, Wuxi, relax in Li Garden and Taihu Lake and then continue onto the southern capital of Nanjing. B/L/D
Day 7 Friday – Nanjing
This morning visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum which was built during 1926-29 for this great pioneer of Chinese revolution. In the afternoon walk around the Confucius Temple market and Xuanwu Lake. B/L/D
Day 8 Saturday – Nanjing/Beijing
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the vibrant city of Beijing. Later visit the largest temple complex in China, the Temple of Heaven. B/L/D
Day 9 Sunday – Beijing
This morning see the iconic picture of Chairman Mao by visiting Ti’ananmen Square and venture into the Forbidden City. In the afternoon, view first-hand China pandas at Panda Hall. Tonight enjoy an evening of traditional Chinese show with the Legend of Kungfu. B/L/D
Day 10 Monday – Beijing
Today it is time to explore the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China at Badaling. Here immerse yourself in its history and walk along a section of the wall. Following this visit the Ming Tombs, specifically Chang Ling. Tonight savour the local specialty of a Peking Duck Dinner. B/L/D
Day 11 Tuesday – Beijing/Xi’an
Get a glimpse of authentic China by rickshaw, visiting the local Hutongs and also Lama Temple. A shopping trip has been arranged for this afternoon, before you board on overnight, air-conditioned soft sleeping train to the ancient city of Xi’an. B/L/D
Day 12 Wednesday – Xi’an
Arrive into Xi’an in the morning and get ready to visit the fascinating archaeological discovery of the Terracotta Warriors. Afterwards enjoy the view from the City Wall. A Dumpling Banquet has been arranged for tonight. B/L/D
Day 13 Thursday – Xi’an/Hangzhou
Visit the Great Mosque in the morning and transfer to the airport for your flight to tranquil Hangzhou in the afternoon. B/L/D
Day 14 Friday – Hangzhou
In the morning take a cruise on West Lake, surrounded by mountains. Afterwards visit one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China, Linyin Temple, then view the impressive 60m high Six Harmonies Pagoda built in 970 and finally a special visit to a local Tea Farm. Enjoy dinner at Lakeside Dinner House which famous for its local food. B/L/D
Day 15 Saturday – Hangzhou/Shanghai
Relax in the morning and then transfer to Shanghai by coach. Visit the Bund, an area on the banks of the Huangpu River that gives you a captivating riverside view of more than 500 skyscrapers, such as the futuristic Oriental Pearl Tower before dinner. B/L/D
Day 16 Sunday – Shanghai/London
Your China experience has come to an end and it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. You have a transfer to the airport for your flight home to Heathrow with China Eastern Airlines. Arrive in London later the same day. B |
