Beihai Park


Is one of the oldest imperial and largest garden in China.  Behai Park contains numerous historically palaces  and temples most notable the White Pagoda located on Jade Flower Island in the middle of the lake. Since 1925, the Behai Park has been open to the public as a park. Is very  interesting to mention that Behai Park is connected to Shichahai area.

Is the highest point in Beijing! Its situated in the city centre and you can reach it by taking north exit from the Forbidden City.  The 45.7-meter (150 ft) high artificial hill was constructed in the Ming Dynasty entirely from the soil excavated in forming the moats of the Imperial Palace and nearby canals. Jingshan consists of five individual peaks, and on the top of each peak there lies an elaborate pavilion. These pavilions were used by officials for gathering and leisure purposes. Today they are excellent place for bird view of the Forbidden City and Beijing.



This area consist of three lakes:  Qianhai (Front Lake), Houhai (Rear Lake) and Xihai (West Lake) . During the day it’s a tranquil scene with waterways linked by bridges and walking paths, courtyards and willow trees. During the night Shichahai area changes its cover and become heart of Beijing night life with the various restaurants and bars.

Beijing Botanical Garden was established in 1955 and it covers an area of 564,000 square metres. the highlight of the gardens is the hothouse where you can see various members of the palm family, tropical aquatic plants and  commercial plants . There are rooms for demonstrating medicinal plants, aromatic plants and succulents. There are over 300 different varieties of orchid. There are also several Buddhist temples located on the grounds. The Beijing Botanical Garden is not only place to avoid crowds of Beijing  but also an important location for science education and research.

Xiangshan Park

Located northeast of Beijing’s city center, Xiangshan Park is home to “Fragrant Hill,” a scenic spot famous for its vistas, especially in the fall. The Fragrant Hill Red Leaves Festival is a standout event in October each year, but Xiangshan Park is incredible year-round thanks to the imperial architecture, temples and memorials found throughout the park and area.
